Happy New Year everyone!

I hope everyone is healthy and staying warm.

As we continue to enjoy the stress relief from looming mandates, I hope we’re keeping vigilant with regard to safe health practices for yourself, your family and your brothers and sisters.

I’ve had a lot of conversations over the last couple months with members about hybrid work, we don’t have an agreement as of yet but I will continue to put out any information as it develops.

We continue to move regular business along. We have 3rd step grievances scheduled for February 15th. Please check the E-Board minutes if you have something scheduled.

We are continuing to push the Article XXIII’s ahead with the company and we’ll continue putting out updates on that front.

We discussed the TLS training agreement with the company last week and are awaiting a formal company response.

Please keep an eye on our website for any new information.

As always, should any member have a question, an issue or concern please contact your steward or if they are unavailable call the hall directly.

I hope as of this writing you’re enjoying what you can of this winter season. With that we are slowly seeing a change towards longer daylight hours that make it easier to come and go from work while it’s light out. This time of the year helps remind us that spring is in the air and warmer weather is upon us.

We are continuing to hear grievances and sitting in on many meetings. Local 97 is taking on more of a roll with the monthly SAC meetings and will continue to increase our presence. Our goal is to have everyone go home better than they came in that day.

Local 97 is focusing on training and the schools at Seneca Street. I try to attend each class once during its time to talk with our unqualified about their training. We believe well trained lineman are safe lineman. To our unqualified members keep up on your OJT books and keep them in a safe place.

Continue the great work and Be Safe out there.

With the upcoming freeze/thaw cycles please be aware of ice wherever you are walking. Utilize Spikeys or Neos for traction assistance but be aware that they can be very slippery on cement floors. Take the extra time to put them on when needed and to take them off when no longer needed.

Work rules meetings continue to be scheduled upon request. Stewards, please reach out to schedule.
