BUSINESS MANAGER’S REPORT

I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year.

As we enter a new year, we continue to address the transmission issue, so that we can keep generation alive.

I had an article published in the Poughkeepsie Journal – an area where we are having a lot of push back regarding the upgrades.

We have a week and a half in February scheduled to negotiate with Brookfield’s Bear Swamp.

We also have negotiations with St. Lawrence Gas, as their contract is up February 15th.

We are stepping up our efforts in the PSC staffing audit.

I am keeping an eye on the negotiations with National Grid and IBEW 1049 on Long Island. It will have an impact on our 2017 negotiations.

We will also be looking at starting a Youth Caucus along with a Women’s Caucus and continue with our new hire orientation along with implementing a Code of Excellence Program offered by the IO for our officers and possibly rolling it out to our stewards.

NATIONAL GRID

We have agreed that prior to taking the Gas Operations Shovel Test, a candidate will be required to have a blood pressure test and have a reading of less than or equal to 140/90.

We are very close to finalizing the Electrical Design Rep. Agreement that would allow for an increase of five pay grades.
