I would like to thank everyone in the Western Division for all the work they have done on this last windstorm. As you know this was the fourth largest event at Niagara Mohawk. I would like to thank you for working safely, looking out for each other and getting the lights on for the customers.
I want you to know that the monthly meetings are set per the bylaws of the local Union. Starting the second Tuesday of the month first in Buffalo followed by Albany and lastly Syracuse and must be held for 3 consecutive days.
I know there has been a lot of passion from the membership about the federal vaccine mandate. I want you to know that the Union has not stopped working on this for you. Our efforts are paying off with the federal contract for National Grid pushed off till May for now and the US federal court's nationwide injunction to halt the vaccine mandate. It is the belief of Ted Skerpon and all of the Union Representatives that we would like to see the mandates halted and go away completely. I also want you to know that Local 97 believes in choice for our membership.
Lastly, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy your family and friends on this holiday season.
