Week of Action for the PRO Act

Monday, April 26, 2021
From April 26th through May 1st an important Week of Action is taking place to pass the PRO Act. This bill would expand the rights of workers and level the playing field between unions and employers. It would make it easier to form a union, easier to get a new contract, and would create real penalties for employers that violate labor law. Here in New York our two Senators are not only supporting the bill but are leading voices in getting it passed. That's why next week, the IBEW and the AFL-CIO are asking all union members to give their offices a call and thank them for supporting the bill. You can make the call by clicking here.

Every New Yorker above the age of 16 is also eligible to get the COVID vaccine. Time has been made available for you to get it, so if you have not already gotten it consider making an appointment to get it. In the meantime, please keep up with safety protocols to ensure that the virus does not spread on our jobsites.

Next week is also Workers Memorial Day, the day that we remember all of those who died on the job in 2020-21. It is also the day that OSHA was formed. This is a good time to take a few minutes to consider your safety protocols and make sure that you are doing things in a safe way that will ensure that you make it home to your family each and every day. Work safe and stay safe.
