Western Division Report: Picnic and Drugs

Drugs and Alcohol:

I want to make this clear, do not make Drugs and Alcohol more important than you, your family or your job.
We are all subject to random testing for the CDL and you could be tested for just cause. We have had both older and younger members test positive.

From my prospective we have a larger number of younger members testing positive for Drugs. Be aware of peer pressure and do not give into it. You will be making more money than all your friends because you hit the National Grid lottery; don't throw it all away. If you need help call your Doctor they will help you or call the Union Hall we will work with you to get you the help you need.

If caught using drugs the first time the company will suspend you and rehabilitate you one time; its a one shot deal. If you tested positive a second time ever again you will be terminated with no hope of ever getting back into the company.

Western Division Picnic:

This year the Western Division Picnic will be held on September 23rd at Joseph's Country Manor and Grove from 1200 noon till 6 PM. Food, Beer Pop and Wine will be served all day. Please bring a donation for the Ronald McDonald house; the Women of Local 97 Power and Light Society are collecting K cups and to go coffee cups with lids. Please see your Chief Steward or call Morgan at the Union hall for tickets. Remember tickets are for Active Members and Retired Members, who can bring one guest with them. All this food and fun for $10.  -Jim Murty, Assistant Business Manager West
