I hope that everyone enjoyed their Presidents Day holiday on February 20th. Presidents Day stared in 1885 in recognition of our first President George Washington. Originally celebrated on his birthday February 22nd; it is now recognized on the 3rd Monday in February celebrating all the Presidents past and present. In 1971 the Uniform Holiday Act was passed moving all the federal holidays to Monday giving the nations workers more three day weekends. The only federal holiday not on a Monday is Veterans Day that is recognized on November 11th, which is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice in 1918 ending World War One.
This months sub-divisional meeting is in Dunkirk at 4:30 pm at the conservation club.
Just a reminder to all in a progression series to keep up with your checklist.
