All EDO Departments in the Central Division conducted their Safety Half-Day Off-the-Truck meetings the week of January 9th through the 13th. The speaker was Gary Norland (a Maintenance Electrician from Clarkston, Washington). Gary was severely burned on his neck & back after contact with energized lines. The Half-Day Off-the-Truck concept was initiated by Local 97 Central Division in 2010, and now the meetings are being held all across National Grid Territory and other utilities as well.
Subdivision meetings will be held in Potsdam on January 30th, in Watertown on January 31st, in Oswego on February 1st and
in Utica on February 7th.
