On Tuesday, voters across the state will be heading to the polls to decide whether New York should hold a Constitutional Convention. Unions from across the state have joined with various other groups from across the political spectrum to oppose this convention. Local 97 is asking all of our members to please go out and vote No on Tuesday. I have included some information on the convention for you below, including a video that you can share on Facebook and Twitter, as well as some talking points for some reasons that people who are not in unions are voting No. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, so please go vote.
Don't Forget to Flip Your Ballot
When you go to vote on Tuesday your ballot will have two sides. On the front you will see local races like County Executive or Town Council. To vote against the Constitutional Convention you will need to flip your ballot over. The Constitutional Convention question will be Proposition 1. All you need to do is mark the No box. Pictured above is a sample of what the back of the ballot will look like.
