Western Division Report

First of all I would like to thank Morgan and Sue for all their hard work on the Solidarity Picnic. This year we had a great time once again and the attendance was up. Thanks to all who attended.

I would like to thank the women of the Power and Light Society for collecting school supplies at the picnic for the Buffalo Promise Neighborhoods Children's Academy.

The Promise Neighborhood Children's Academy; It is approximately a 10 square block neighborhood near Kensington & Bailey or the 14215 zip code.

So when they talk about promise, they are talking about commitment to exceptional support that improves education outcomes. Success starts with strong families, and families thrive when parents and children both have the opportunities and resources to be their best. Early childhood intervention is the greatest predictor of future academic success. That's what makes their two-generation programs (Parent Achievement Zone) so important and successful.

Thank you Ladies for your support in our community.

Women's Committee again participated in the Ronald McDonald House Cook for Kids on October 23, 2019.  A huge thank you goes out to Morgan Kiefhaber, Lisa Ciancio, Paulette Dust-Allen, Cathy Gervase and Jill Palisterant.  We will be having another event in the Spring. -Jim Murty, ABM, IBEW Local 97 Western Division
