Discipline review is currently underway, we will have more updates in future emails.

For the 5th year Local 97 was invited to speak to Seniors in the Electrical Construction and Maintenance class at HVCC. Topics covered included CBAs and how they work,  working for companies with Union contracts and how workers enjoy competitive benefit packages, (medical, pension, vacation and sick time, ...). The importance of holding a clean driver's license, respecting others and learning how to ask questions in a positive manner. We also discussed the need to create good work habits such as being on time, producing quality work, learning and working to expectations and procedures, and staying until the end of your work day. In a new social media world, we talked to the students about thinking about how they promote themselves on social media with pictures and comments, telling them don't have a post you wouldn't want your grandmother to see, and how it does not belong in the workplace. The students were very open, asked many questions, and it iwas enjoyable to try to help as they start looking to enter  their careers and life. Thanks to Kevin Lyons for the update. -Chuck Milos, IBEW Local 97 East Assistant Business Manager
