Central Division Report: Summer is Here

Thursday, May 24, 2018

Summer has finally arrived and with that, many precautions must be taken while working or enjoying outdoor activities.  Sun exposure can cause skin cancer and insects will be out in abundance.  We must all be vigilant in protecting ourselves against mosquitoes that can carry West Nile Virus and Triple E. Our tick problem is getting worse every year with more cases of Lyme Disease being reported.  Take precautions to cover your skin as best you can with the proper clothing and use good sunscreen and insect repellent with deet.

Hats off to our brothers and sisters who have done a great job restoring power to our customers during the many recent wind storms this spring.

We are planning Steward training again with the International IBEW trainers this fall.  More information will be forthcoming for our stewards to sign up for this important training opportunity.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  Our annual Central Division clambake will again be held this year at Hinerwadel's on Saturday, September 29th from 1-5 p.m.  More information will be provided soon.

We are still looking for more volunteers for our Women's and Youth Committees.  If anyone is interested, please contact the Syracuse Union office at (315) 476-9797.

Thank you and stay safe this summer!
