Business Manager’s Report
August 2011
I have mostly been tied up with Constellation with negotiations, strike and settlement. I appreciate the donations that were collected at last month’s meeting. We were successful after two weeks on the line and we came back to the table and were able to get what we went out on strike for. We consider it a win.
BROOKFIELD
We are in the process of preparing for an arbitration.
NRG
We have three separate agreements that we are currently working on in regards to VPP, PD&M and staffing issues.
On generation side Phil Wilcox is speaking with the Governor and doing work on Transmission upgrade. He has a meeting on August 23rd with the Governor’s Energy Secretary. They have interest on upgrading Transmission power to NYC especially with the Governor trying to close Indian Point.
NATIONAL GRID
Met today on Station/Relay issues and going to Phase 2. We did not get anywhere and just went back and forth on proposals. Company wants to extend Phase 1 and try and do something for Relay. We are not interesting in extending Phase 1 and stated that as of August 15th we are done with Phase 1 and going back to what we was being done in the past.
The meeting scheduled for August 17th with Neal Proudman to go over issues with Storeroom, Clerical and Fleet has been cancelled and we are trying to reschedule.
PSE&G
There will be a Benefits meeting Monday morning that VP Zabinski, BR Givney and E-Board Rep. McGuiness will be attending.
ENTERGY
We will be starting with negotiations for this contract which will be ending on September 30th. Jim Zabinski, Sue Sweeney and I will not be here for next month’s meeting as we will be in these negotiations. We will be starting negotiations on August 23rd with the exchange of proposals and continuing on the 30th.
